Again, this is another reflection of my love and appreciation for old and rustic places. I would tell you where this place is except that it is currently closed due to council problems. So thankful that owner let us take photos there. They were super nice! Really hope their problems get resolved so that this place can be opened to the public again. These sort of places are hard to come by!

What's more awesome is that he is also an Australian farmer! You don't meet too many of them around!

You guys will have to look out for his new single release in the coming months!

For me, his was the first time I got to shoot for a musician and boy was it fun! The brief was a little different to normal but the outcome was good! Hopefully this experience will open doors for more opportunities down the track!

Seriously peoples, Australia has got talent!

More love for old things...

I can't help it really, it's actually getting worse! I use to love walking in shopping centres. Now, I can't stand them. Ever since I got into op-shops and moved into the inner west, my allegiance has changed. Brand names and expensive things don't appeal to me anymore. It makes no sense to buy rustic things for retail price when you can find them in its true form second-hand and cheaper.

Not only that, my creative buds are on hyper-drive! I just want to do creative things all the time. For instance, I thought I should be spending less time on photography but the more I steer away the more I can't stay away. Especially when people around me appreciate and support my work. I love it when people tell me they appreciate my photos cause they mean so much to me! I love it when it puts a smile on another person's face just like it puts one on me.

What will become of me I wonder? Only time can tell.

What a special day! It's special because these guys have been through so much to be together and not only am I sooo happy for them, i also have so much respect for them. It's nice to know that there are people out there who won't just take the see way out. People are willing to work through the tough things in life and to completely surrender themselves to plans of our Sovereign Maker.

Irwan and Catherine are great inspirations of courage, love, sacrifice and patience. My prayer is that they will continue to be a blessing to those whom they meet in their coming days. xx

There are some photos that i won't show until i exhibit them in July but here is a few that i was playing around with. I don't usually sit in front of Photoshop for hours to try filters and stuff but i just wanted to see your response...

Well, its a long time coming but here are some photos that I took up in the north coast with the people that I now work with (whilst at a Retreat together). My favourite is the backstreet boys photo of Derek, now we just need him to come up with a few songs and we've got an album. It was the perfect time of the day and he was standing in the perfect spot.

I'm excited about the rest of the year knowing that God will continue to wonderful things amongst His people!! xx

Favourite time of the day...

Had the best time driving west on the motorway with my bestie with windows down whilst listening to Boyz II Men, Melissa Polinar and John Mayer. And to top it off, we met our favourite time of the day, SUNSET! Was so beautiful! It's the seriously the best time to take photos! i don't actually know the name of the last location we ended up in (somewhere in Penrith) but hopefully, i'll get to go back again!

Today i discovered that i might be allergic to grass! =P

Ignorance is not always bliss

Less than a year ago if you asked me about country Australia I would have only given you three words, "i don't know" - complete and utter ignorance. Until i saw it for my eyes, I would not have believed in it's beauty! Now, you probably won't be able to stop me from talking about it. And to add to my list of things to talk about is my adventure to Bangalow. WOW!

While I was there I stayed with my friend Celia, her husband Julian and their cute little girl Emma.

And boy, the beaches up there are so nice (with much less people around too)!

God willing, one day I'll get to live in a place like this... I don't know what a small country town would do with an asian girl who's grown up in the city smoke for most of her life... but if the opportunity ever came up I wouldn't think twice about it.

Then on the way home before my departure we discovered a shop in Clunes that had everything on my wishlist!! If i had a car, I would have transported everything back to Sydney! The shop keeper was so nice, I wish I had more time to spend in the shop to talk to her! I'm pretty sure we could have talked for hours. That's one thing that I love about this area, everyone is really friendly and lovely to talk to. Community evangelism is a real possibility here, so many gospel opportunities!

I miss this place already! One of my best holidays ever! I hope in the near future I could take my youth group members there!

My good friends and I splurged a little bit for our get together... but boy was it nice (aka Surry Hills)! And after my epic christmas present swap idea we all come up looking a little cooler than normal. Rule was: "something that this person would not normally wear!"

It takes great courage to love and it takes great love to have the courage to live outside ones comfort zone. I was so impressed by the efforts that each had to take to learn the others culture. Ro learnt mandarin to communicate with Rita's parents. Rita ventured out into the outback to hang out with Ro's family (if you don't know asians don't typically get out of the city). What could drive and push us beyond what we are used to? What gives us the strength to lose our pride in order to learn? What else but love?

There is something about the old...

Things are not made the same anymore. Perhaps mass productions and machinery work has hidden the wonders of human craftsmanship. The things that I loved about this farm were the old things. These things reflected the nature of the artist and therefore their uniqueness (every artist has their own style).

I know how special my experience in the last couple of months have been. Not a lot of asians are able to brag about their country experience. Not a lot of asians appreciate old things. I can't help but think that God has a not more to teach me about myself and life then in the lecturers of SMBC. I don't know how these lessons will fit into my context next year but because of these experiences I doubt I'm the same person 12 months ago...

Family Fun

Today I got to spend the morning with the Turveys. Despite the rain, thanks to a toy lizard called Leroy we managed to get some nice family photos. Jeremy and Miri are funny and genuinely nice, sam is full of energy and who can forget the adorable Olive. Olive is the cutest baby and I love how she loves my camera!

On another note: Did I tell you I love photography? More and more everyday... =)

College has brought many wonderful things in my life. Amongst these wonderful things are friends. And on the 5th December 2010 I got to see my college friend Luke marry a beautiful girl called Meg. I have come to love both of them and can't wait to hang out with them again when they return. Meeting them has allowed me to experience the true meaning of vintage and handmade goodness (thanks to Meg's creative girlfriends & luke's dad)! And as you will see below this wedding truly captures all the above.
